The US Sports Film Festival recognizes that sports does more than entertain and enthrall, it is an extraordinary vehicle for individual empowerment and social change. The festival is committed to showcasing films and media that illuminate how sports is making a difference in areas such as personal and community self esteem and respect, conflict resolution, inter-cultural awareness, youth at risk, children's education, social entrepreneurship, health and HIV-AIDS, women's empowerment, and the environment. The festival will provide interactive panels and forums where experts and festival attendees discuss and debate how sports and sports media impact society. The USSFF will introduce exciting opportunities for festival goers and sports fans to explore ways to make a personal contribution of their talents, skills and resources through their passion for sports.
This special focus on how sports makes a difference in the world will be one of the most distinctive, exciting and inspiring aspects of the festival.
The Sports Making a Difference program will take place on Friday, October 24, and include a panel, film screenings, a sports action initiative session and opportunities to connect with dedicated athletes, celebrities, sports and media executives and representatives of leading organizations that contribute to society through sports. It is a unique opportunity to begin creating a personal sports vision and legacy, or simply appreciate the amazing accomplishments of those playing a game for humanity.
